What makes Catillac Kayaks different from buying a kayak online? We are devoted to what we believe is the true spirit of customer service. We want you to test-paddle any kayak you are considering, and maybe a few others as well. Would you buy a car without first assessing how it feels to you and how it handles? We wouldn't either. We make those test-paddles happen with personalized short excursions, demo days, and other events. A quality fishing kayak isn't pocket change, and we will do everything we can to make your investment worthwhile and your experience top-notch in all regards. Whether you buy a boat we have in stock or one ordered specifically for you, we will be with you every step of the way.
To us, every kayak is a custom kayak. Sure, most kayaks start out as either a bare hull, or with a particular package of hatches and rod holders. Pretty soon, though, you'll be tweaking that boat to suit your own tastes. Many of our customers request that their rod holders not be installed until their boat arrives, so they can sit in the boat on the water, and tune the angles of their rod holders to their style of fishing. Others add power, motors, fishfinders, GPS and VHF equipment, Scotty™ systems and other rigging or even swap different types of hatches. We stock a limited selection of boats for exactly this reason. Some folks wait until they have more water time before customizing their 'yaks, others have an array of additions to do right off the bat. And, some folks are comfortable customizing their own boats, while others would rather someone more experienced approach their boat with a saw and a rivet gun. Either way, Catillac Kayaks will help you customize your kayak from the moment you select your boat throughout your ownership of it. The joy of a craft with this much potential is to maximize that potential. That potential is different for every angler and every paddler. Whether you're an angler, photographer, fitness paddler, ecologist, camper or family paddler, our goal is for you to be thrilled with your kayak.
We generally price our kayaks without seats or paddles so as to allow you the freedom to select what works best for you. At shows and events we will build packages inclusive of a specific seat and paddle, but ultimately the choice is always yours. We work extremely hard to keep our prices as low as possible in the interest of sharing a sport we love so much. If you find what appears to be a better price, please talk with us about it.
A brief note on shipping: shipping has been fluctuating greatly with the extreme changes in the petroleum market. We will do everything we can to keep your shipping costs to a minimum. Our in-stock boats have shipping costs built into their prices, and ordered boats will be quoted the best possible shipping rate at the time of shipping from the factory. We check with multiple shippers for the best rates, be it for hub or home delivery. We will work with you to the best of our ability. |
